shopping note

Included in the store's many and varied offerings are the `Snow on Canton Street` items by artist Tracy Hoexter. The Chandlery offers these prints, postcards, notecards, and now Christmas and Holiday cards.

The store also is fully adorned with the fabulous work of interior designer Dusky Turner.  He brings the Joy of the season to The Chandlery--- to our trees, outdoor decorations, and with his energy in the store. You will want to take home some of his themed creations, be they wreaths, mantlescapes, tablescapes or more!

The heart of HomeStretch's mission is helping homeless families get back on their feet and into permanent, sustainable housing.  This is no small endeavor since many families typically come to us earning salaries at or below the poverty threshold.  Supporting a family at this income level brings much financial hardship; the family cannot make ends meet and inevitably becomes homeless.

HomeStretch gives homeless parents and their children a safe and comfortable place to live while simultaneously helping them address the root causes of their situation and return to a life of self-reliance and stability.  After graduating from HomeStretch, the families have a strong grasp on their finances, have reduced insurmountable debt and have accumulated savings.  Many have even increased their income through job skills training and improved employment.

HomeStretch seeks four outcomes
 for the families we serve:

HomeStretch provides assistance
 in four primary ways:

  • Stable Housing
  • Stable Employment
  • Stable Finances
  • Stable Families
  • LifeSkills Education
  • Supportive Housing (while in the program)
  • Volunteer Mentoring
  • Personalized Case Management

Through the work of dedicated Family Coordinators, volunteer support teams and life skills workshops, our families are armed with all the tools they need to succeed.
