10th Annual Peachtree Tea Success

Our 10th Annual Peachtree Tea was a day to remember. HomeStretch hosted more than 250 guests at the Country Club of the South on February 28. We dined on a lovely lunch and enjoyed a lively silent auction and raffle, all while celebrating HomeStretch with friends and co-workers. A special treat this year was hearing the very talented, Mamido Bomboko Souchu, a winner on The Voice France, sing a beautiful rendition of “hymne à l’amour”.

We were also inspired by speakers Yvette Whitehead, a HomeStretch graduate, and Dr. Earl Thurmond, Physician Director for Care Experience, Kaiser Permanente. Yvette told the story of her journey from homelessness and how her family benefited from the HomeStretch program. She was a dynamic speaker, noting that success is dependent on hard work. Dr. Thurmond shed light on the negative health affects and the elevated rate of chronic illnesses in adults and children who experience homelessness.

This annual event is always a fun way to share our mission and raise funds to support HomeStretch. Thank you to this year’s chairperson, Tania Trumble, the Tea Committee, event volunteers, auction donors, and sponsors. We also offer a special thank you to our Presenting Sponsor for a second year, Publix Super Markets Charities.
